Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress best known for her film roles as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the TV show The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer who is active in film, theater, and television. Her acting journey began in theater and later appeared in numerous shows on television as well as independent and mainstream movies. She became famous as Miranda Shaw, a character on ABC's Quantico. The BET's epic series The Book of Negroes she played the role of Ariel. In addition, she receive critical acclaim for her performance, but she also received a few awards and nominations. In 1995, she made her debut in the role of Ariel on stage in The Tempest. She has performed as a character on Broadway with roles in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Her film work is highlighted by her performances in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. For her work on television she's received praise for her role as the regular character in ABC's drama about cops High Incident.
